Rosie is currently studying a year long certificate in Breastfeeding and Lactation from Breastfeeding London which is a prerequisite for the IBCLC examination.

Rosie has a wealth of knowledge that she can share and help you and your baby have a better breastfeeding journey. As a mother herself Rosie understands the stresses parents are under and can direct you to helpful resources.

Partnership with Lactation Consultant Louise Stickland 

We have a close relationship with Louise who specialises in lactation and tongue tie divisions. We will refer to Louise where necessary.

Part of our osteopathic assessment of your child is to make checks that the baby is feeding as easily as they can.

Breastfeeding:

Some mothers can have a problems with breastfeeding. This may be associated with sore nipples or sore breasts, concern about the growth or weight of a baby, medication, milk supply, recurring mastitis, breast refusal or difficulty in latching or maintaining the latch or frequent feeding.

Tongue Tie:

 A tongue tie (also known as ankyloglossia) is when the membrane under the tongue (the lingual frenulum) is shortened or tight and restricts tongue mobility. Where the membrane is attached at, or close to the tongue tip, the tongue tip may look blunt or forked, or have a heart shaped appearance. However, where the membrane is attached further back, the tongue may look normal. Posterior tongue ties can be detected by feel and a more detailed assessment of tongue function.
